IDeA Competition Info Session
The Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA) student competition challenges university students across Canada to use their creativity to develop innovative, cost-effective and practical solutions to accessibility barriers for people with disabilities. Individuals and teams can win up to $5,000 for their accessibility solution. To learn more about the IDeA student competition, and how you can get support for your solution from the Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship, join us on Thursday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. PST.
The deadline to enter the 2021 IDeA competition is April 30, 2021 at 5 p.m. ET.

Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA)
The Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA) student competition challenges university students across Canada to use their creativity to develop innovative, cost-effective and practical solutions to accessibility barriers for people with disabilities. The objectives of the program are:
- to contribute to the creation of a culture of accessibility in Canada
- to motivate students to think about accessibility issues and to include accessibility in their creation of social and technological innovations now and in the future
- to develop cost-effective, practical and innovative concepts, programs, initiatives or designs that address everyday accessibility issues
The deadline to enter the 2021 IDeA competition is April 30, 2021 at 5 p.m. ET.
About Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection
Western Canada’s first university business incubator, Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection® is a university-wide incubator, entrepreneurship training program for students and recent alumni. From the initial business idea through to validation, Venture Connection® supports individuals exploring entrepreneurship possibilities. The program offers an early-stage business incubator, mentorship, co-op education terms, competitions, networking opportunities, workshops and seminars. Venture Connection® collaborates with all SFU faculties and departments, including the Beedie School of Business, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Communication Arts and Technology, Work Integrated Learning and a wide-range of external partners. The program is supported by professional staff, including Mentors-in-Residence with substantial experience in a range of industries.
