Corporate Governance Series – Session 1: Foundations of Corporate Governance

This Corporate Board Governance program is a three-part series that equips entrepreneurs, founders, and professionals who are looking to form a board with foundational knowledge including effective HR management, shareholder agreements, Artificial Intelligence policies etc. required to form a diverse and effective board that brings about value creation and long-term financial gains.

At the end of this series, you/participants will learn:

  • How to create effective policies and a board that pushes forward your company’s business strategy.
  • How to implement best practices for early-stage governance.
  • How to leverage diversity and inclusion to create long-term value to your company/organization.
  • How to adopt policies that will protect employees from making errors with IP

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Session 1 – Foundations of Corporate Governance (Feb 6, 2024)

This first session will explore the foundational principles of corporate governance in our upcoming session. Delve into best practices, highlighting the business case for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and the pivotal role of a diverse board in driving innovation and growth. We’ll cover standard policies, effective product development strategies for early-stage companies, and the importance of adopting robust Product Development, AI, and HR policies. Join us for a concise yet comprehensive discussion on essential elements that contribute to organizational success

Session 2 – Understanding an Investor’s Point of View (February 27, 2024)

This session will look at governance from an investors’ point of view. Their preferences and must haves. Different types of investors will have different views of Governance especially if they intend to be an active Board member.

Session 3 – Documents for Effective Governance and Raising Capital (March 12, 2024)

This session will cover documents you need to effectively run your company and raise capital like shareholder agreements, reverse investing agreements, assignments of intellectual property, and offering memorandums. Learn how they can be used and their value in the corporate governance of a company. 

This program is ideal for:

Early stage companies in the technology sector that are developing products, raising capital, applying for grants and preparing for growth and expansion
