Design Jam: Transforming healthcare in the post-pandemic landscape

The traditional delivery of emergency care needs to transform in the new normal.

Transforming healthcare in the post-pandemic landscape

Presented by the Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship as an agent of the Discovery Foundation delivered in partnership with Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection.

There is consensus that the COVID-19 pandemic has changed healthcare delivery forever. Healthcare companies and professionals need to transform how they deliver care in a post-pandemic world.

In the early stages of the pandemic, everyone was told to stay home, use telemedicine and only visit the hospital if absolutely necessary. However, there were patients that would have benefited from being at the hospital. How should that have been communicated to certain groups of patients? In addition, how will emergency rooms look like in the new normal?

Join us in this Design Jam to explore and ideate on how emergency rooms can change to keep patients safe, while ensuring their doors are open and welcoming for urgent care. We will introduce frameworks and tools to help create and evaluate solutions to a plethora of problems in healthcare and beyond. The challenge is not just to survive the newest health crisis, but to work on more sustainable healthcare and improve patient outcomes.
