About the Event

The Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum (VEF) Road to Web Summit Women in Tech & Impact Tech Pitch Showcase with support from Innovate BC’s R2WSV program is back for 2026! This training and skill building pathway is designed to prepare high-potential impact businesses with women founders to pitch and sell at one of the world’s most influential global tech events, Web Summit Vancouver.

This program is built for women-identifying founders who are serious about sharpening their pitch, strengthening investor readiness, connecting with customers, and increasing their visibility ahead of Web Summit.

The opportunity began with a call for applicants from February 2 to March 2. We are excited to announce the presenting ventures shortly, who will go through a pitch, investment, and storytelling bootcamp on March 30th as they prepare to present at this showcase, and to put their best foot forward at this year’s Web Summit Vancouver conference.

This program is presented in collaboration with Innovation UBC, InBC Investment Corp, and NorthX.

• eSense Health – Elayne Wandler

  A lawyer built platform that makes prenups and cohabitation agreements affordable and accessible for Canadians.

• Kalino Bio – Sherry Zhao
  Kalino Bio develops non surgical immunocontraceptive vaccines for dogs and cats as alternatives to traditional spaying and neutering.

• Heyya – Natasha Maynard
  HeyYa Carts is a Canadian micro mobility company providing street legal electric carts that make urban travel in cities like Vancouver and Victoria more convenient, sustainable, and connected while supporting local businesses and reducing congestion.

• Ilixur – Elena Endter
  Ilixur is an intelligent wellbeing and productivity platform for high performing professionals.

• Petal. ai – Emily Clarke
  Petal. ai helps brands measure, understand, and actively shape how they appear across AI systems by mapping and optimizing the full LLM customer journey from discovery to decision.

• PrecisionPest Guard – Ibtehal Al Sallaiy
  An AI powered greenhouse pest management system that detects, quantifies, and precisely treats infestations in real time to reduce labour costs, minimize pesticide use, and improve crop yield sustainably.

• Tersa Earth Innovations – Barinder Rasode
  A Vancouver based solutions provider for the mining industry, focused on treating acid rock drainage, reducing the carbon intensity of mining waste remediation, and advancing metals recovery.

Plus Dr. Marissa Lithopoulos with Beaker Banter will be delivering a unique keynote presentation where science, comedy, and music collide in a way you will not forget.

A scientist by training and a performer at heart, Marissa brings a rare mix of expertise and stage presence as a comedian and musician. She takes complex scientific ideas and transforms them into engaging, relatable stories through humour and song, making even the most technical concepts accessible and memorable.

Expect a high-energy, unconventional session that blends live performance with insight into how science shapes the world around us. This is not a traditional talk. It is an experience designed to entertain, educate, and shift how you think about innovation.
