SFU VentureLabs alumni company InDro Robotics has been selected as a qualified supplier under the Government of Canada’s Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace.

Led by the Department of National Defence and the Defence Investment Agency, the initiative aims to strengthen Canada’s defence capabilities and protect its sovereignty.

As a qualified supplier, InDro can compete for opportunities to develop, test, demonstrate and potentially produce uncrewed and autonomous systems for the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Coast Guard.

InDro develops aerial and ground robotics supported by autonomous control, machine vision, systems integration and field-testing capabilities. Its work includes long-range, ruggedized platforms for defence, commercial and dual-use applications.

One of the technologies included in InDro’s proposals is TALOS, a rugged hybrid-electric vehicle capable of travelling up to 7,000 kilometres on a single tank of fuel. InDro is currently transforming the vehicle into a remotely operated and autonomous ground robot for use in complex and demanding environments.
