The new all-in-one program will tackle the unique challenges faced by science-based companies on their journey to commercialization.

Vancouver, BC, Feb 24 2025 —  SFU VentureLabs has officially launched Perago, a program designed to help deeptech and life sciences companies overcome barriers and accelerate their growth. For more than a decade, SFU VentureLabs has been working with companies, and  through this work, they have identified a critical gap in support available for science-based ventures.

"Building science-based companies can be a complex process. The technology risk is higher, capital needs are greater, and development timelines are significantly longer. With Perago, our goal is to help BC’s deeptech and life sciences companies become global leaders," said Dr. Lesley Esford, Executive Director of SFU VentureLabs.

​​Perago’s tailored support helps companies accelerate growth, make smart business decisions, and achieve market impact faster by streamlining their journey from seed to Series A. 

“With the right mentors, advisors, and networks, we'll help them secure customers, develop strategies, and build teams to attract the capital needed to scale globally," said Esford.

SFU VentureLabs has chosen four growth companies from its membership DaoAI, INETCO, ThisFish, and ViewsML to participate in the program. Each growth company is driving transformation using AI to reshape their industries.
